Big Day : The Theme (18/09/04)

As luck brought us to know each other, Luck is part of love became our theme of the wedding. We put symbol of luck into the invitation card, gift for all guests, presentation slide, and some toys on the table.

We chose fortune cookie as a visual for our invitation. Normally, people will get a cookie from the restaurant before they start their meal. There is a hidden lucky message inside the cookie. It's kinda fun and exciting. We used the copy "You're invited" implying you're lucky to be invited hehehe... The graphic was designed by my lovely senior friend, P'Noom Satit, a graphic designer from SC Matchbox advertising agency. Thanks a bunch for this gorgeous card :)

Ta-dah...Here you go. We put the real fortune cookies on a small plate in every tables in the ballroom. I'm so glad that many guests enjoyed cracking it and reading the message inside. Some of them shared me some of their good ones such as "You're in the good hands tonight" , " A clear conscience is far more valuable than money", " Experience is the same. Everyone gives to their mistakes", and " To love is to risk getting hurt. Not to risk loving is the greatest risk of all" ....

Tarot cards were chosen to be symbols telling our story through the presentation slides. Between each card, we put pictures of us relating to the meaning of cards. Firstly, The Lover, needless to say the meaning is obviously known. We picked the lover to be the first card to present who we are. The Six of Cups was followed to present our kiddie lives as the card meaning is about 'the past'. Next, The Magician, this card represents the meaning of communication or soul mate found. Personally, I quite fond of this card as it's the key of our relationship.

After that Matt came to see me in Bangkok and we had our first trip at Surin Islands.
We chose The Fool to represent that part as it talks about taking part in the adventure or doing something challenging. The meaning of the next card, The Chariot, represents travelling so all the pictures there are about our trip in Thailand. After that when I decided to move to New Zealand, The Wheel of Fortune is picked to lead people to see my life in New Zealand. The meaning of Ace of Cups is marriage so we put this one at the very end of this slide show. The final card is the wild one. It's Ten of Cups which means happy family life. Wish us luck!

The Lottery was given to the guests at the reception. We compare our relationship like the lottery. Taking risk for the beginning and we feel like we won the first prize after we learn about each other. Though we always realise that the prize will be with us forever if we know how to manage.

Big Day : Announcement (4/4/04)

After making an announcement on 4th April 2004, we plan to have our wedding in Bangkok on 18th September 2004. As being a girl who wasn’t interested in wedding stuff before, I didn’t have much idea on how to organize the wedding or even the basic custom. The www became my best tool of all time My favourite sites are the knot, wedding channel, and wedding square.

Without spending too long to make a decision on things, we decided on place, reception style, and music straight away! Things had been organized quite smoothly since we got kind assistance from family and friends back home. There were so many things for us to work out such as theme, gown, and process of traditional Thai wedding.

I consider myself as a fuss less bride as I just want to make my wedding quick and easy.
To be honest, if my grandmother didn't want to see the wedding I bet you would never see me in the gown. This doesn't mean that marriage isn't important to me but I personally think that the most important thing is the feelings between 2 people and how we manage to live with that significant other. Anyhow, my one was happened on 18th September 2004 despite the fact that I was once saying "I will never have a wedding"
