เคหลิบร้องไห้ดังที่สุดตั้งแต่ชั้นเคยได้ยินมา ชั้นได้แต่บอกลูกว่า แม่เจ็บ หนูต้องหยุดนะลูก น้องจะได้มาอยู่กับเรา เวลาผ่านไปเกือบยี่สิบนาที ซักพักเคหลิบหยุดร้องไห้ เดินลงไปจากเตียง "จะไปไหนน่ะ"ชั้นถามลูก เคหลิบเดินไปในความมืด แล้วตรงไปที่กล่องนมที่กินค้างอยู่บนโต๊ะ แล้วก็ดูดเอาๆ พอดูดเสร็จ ก็กลับมาร้องใหม่ ชั้นตัดสินใจอุ้มเคหลิบเดินวนไปวนมา ลูกร้องแล้วร้องอีกจนเริ่มเหนื่อย เวลาผ่านไปอีกซัก 20 นาที เคหลิบก็หลับคาไหล่ชั้นไป...
หลังจากคืนนั้นเคหลิบไม่แตะ ไม่ขอนมจากชั้นอีกเลย ชั้นแทบไม่อยากเชื่อว่า ลูกจะทำได้ เราสองคนกอดกันบ่อยขึ้น หอมกันบ่อยขึ้น ลูกไม่ได้โกรธชั้นเลย ชั้นไม่รู้หรอกว่าลูกเข้าใจหรือเปล่าว่า "ทำไม" เราถึงต้องหยุดนมกัน แต่สิ่งที่ได้จากลูกทำให้ชั้นภูมิใจกับความเข้มแข็งของลูกมาก
วันนี้ลูกคงยังไม่รู้หรอกว่าสิ่งที่ลูกยอมเสียสละวันนี้มันมีค่ามากแค่ไหน หนูจะภูมิใจในตัวเอง เมื่อวันนึงที่หนูโตขึ้น หนูช่วยให้น้องปลอดภัยนะลูก
